Express Goldsmiths was formed in 1988 by two very well experienced Goldsmiths, Ray Robins and Alan Moore. They started a jewellery repair workshop in the historic Plymouth City Market and have grown and nurtured a reputation that is simply second to none.

That workshop is still there and is now very well established, it’s run by Alan who will carry out a vast range of jewellery repairs and handmade jewellery to order. Additionally he operates a very unique unit, The Express Gold eXchange, where you can buy, sell, or exchange your jewellery.

After 3 years they opened a shop on Cornwall Street run by ray and again they have a workshop on the premises where all aspects of repairs, handmade jewellery, and services can be carried out. The shop also has a vast range of hand selected jewellery on show for sale; all handpicked jewellery is chosen for its outstanding quality and value.

Like fathers like sons, both Carl Moore and Robert Robins have followed their fathers into the business and have created a new vibrancy and dimension to the company, both carving a reputation of their own.

All staff members are highly trained in all aspects of the services offered and all have been with the company since it was formed or shortly after, making it a very friendly environment to visit.

Keeping the business small means much lower overheads, therefore they can provide a quality product at much less cost than their larger, higher profile competitors.
